Tommy2: Good! Lets first off talk about your new single, Shake. Its got your signature Pop – R&B feel with it, with the lyrics that are definitely you. How long ago did you start that and where are you at now?
Entamons la conversation avec ton nouveau single, Shake. Il est marqué par ta signature pop-r&b, avec des paroles écrites par toi. Quand l'as-tu commencé et où en est-tu maintenant avec [ton nouvel album] ?

Jesse McCartney: Well, you know we started the… I started this album about a year ago and Shake sort of came toward the later part of making the record, making this record. It was one of those songs that I really thought could bridge the gap between the last album and this record – you know, sonically I think it sounded a lot, very reminiscent of my last album and when you’re not on the radio for a few years you sort of want to you know get the fans reacquainted with your music and Shake was I think the perfect single. Ya know it’s got the fun rhythmic urban kind of track with some pop melodies on top and it’s a fun song.
Eh bien j'ai commencé cet album il y a plus d'un an et Shake est une sorte de dernière contribution à l'enregistrement de l'album. C'est une des chansons qui peut réellement faire le lien entre le dernier album [Departure] et ce nouvel album [Have it All]. Vous savez, au niveau des sons, il ressemble beaucoup à mon dernier album et quand vous n'êtes pas diffusé en radio pendant quelques années [mois], vous faites en sorte que vos fans se réapproprient votre musique et je pense que Shake est parfait pour cela. Il mêle des rythmes urbains entrainants à des mélodies pop, et c'est une chanson entraînante !

Tommy2: It feels like more of an evolution from the last release, where as the last release was a big step from your older sound right?
Cela ressemble plus à une évolution par rapport au dernier album, qui lui avait marqué une vrai différence avec ton ancien type de son, non ?

Jesse McCartney: Yeah, yeah, exactly. It’s not as, it’s not as drastic because I’ve already laid the groundwork down I think you know with the first, with the last album, with Departure. So this album is very much a continuation of this record… of that record and maybe even a little bit more urban once you get into the heart of the album.
Oui, exactement ! Le changement n'est pas énorme, car j'avais déja travaillé ce nouveau type de son avec mon dernier album Departure. Donc ce nouvel album est vraiment dans la continuité de Departure, et même un peu plus puisqu'il y a un peu plus de son urbain au coeur de l'album.

Tommy2: How long have you been on the road working the single on radio?
Depuis combien de temps es-tu sur la route pour promouvoir le single à la radio ?

Jesse McCartney: Only about a week you know, it feels like two months because you’re in a new city almost every day so you kind of lose track of where you are. But it’s a lot of fun, you know I get a chance to interact with all the fans in each city, you know in each big city. This is the fun part you get to share all of the music that you’ve been recording for the last year.
Depuis une semaine seulement [au moment de l'interview], mais j'ai l'impression que ça fait deux mois car je suis dans une nouvelle ville chaque jour, on perd la notion de l'endroit où l'on est. Mais c'est vraiment marrant, j'ai la chance d'échanger avec beaucoup de fans dans chaque grande ville. C'est très intéressant de partager tout la musique que j'ai enregistré au cours de l'année.
